Beautiful batt for spinning or felt making
Inspired by Regency Era fashion and aesthetics. Who hasn’t wanted to slip on a Regency style ballgown recently with the release of “Bridgerton” on Netflix and the most recent adaptation of Jane Austin’s “Emma”?! I loved the elegant and understated dresses, worn with a draping shawl in faded pastels and flattering fawn colours. Why not make yourself a proper cup of tea (in your finest china cups!) and curl up with a good period drama while you spin?
Made with faux cashmere, tencel, soya silk, mint fibre, recycled sari silk, silk noil, alpaca, merino, corridale, firestar and angelina.
Ideas
- I think this fibre looks particularly lovely spun as a medium weight thick and thin single. Simply woven on a rigid heddle loom this could make a gorgeous Regency era shawl!
- Spin fine and chain ply to keep the colour order, then knit into a lace edging - attach it to your shawl or edge a favourite top.
- Knit yourself a regency style head wrap. This could be modernised with the style of yarn you spin - thick and thin or art yarn would make exciting textures.
- Find some lace and add it into your yarn as you spin. Either spin it straight in to have lengths of lacey yarn with fibre at the top and bottom holding it in place, or why not experiment making some lace “bows” by trapping shorter bits between a two ply.
