Ashford Wavy Stick Shuttles – 3 Sizes

Create wonderfully lively, rippling lines in your weaving by using this shuttle to beat the weft into place. Each side has a different wave, so a small change of direction can produce a fresh rhythm across the cloth.

The smooth lacquered hardwood slips comfortably through the shed and can be used with any Ashford loom. I love these for experimental weaving: alternate the two edges, change colour between rows or combine the waves with areas of ordinary plain weave and watch the surface begin to dance.

Choose a length that is comfortable for the width of your weaving. This is a shaped shuttle and beater for decorative effects rather than a substitute for a rigid heddle reed.
