The Louet S17 is a wonderfully capable first wheel, with the smooth bearings, straightforward Irish tension and robust construction that make Louet wheels such practical companions.
It is supplied unfinished to keep the price accessible. The laminated birch has already been sanded and the edges rounded, ready for you to leave natural or finish with lacquer, stain, paint or wax.
Choose the original single-treadle S17 or the double-treadle version. Both are self-assembly kits and include a lazy kate and three bobbins. The technical specifications match the Irish-tension S10 Concept, so compatible S10 Concept Irish-tension flyers and bobbins can be used.
Please check compatibility carefully: this is the Irish-tension S17. Scotch-tension bobbins and flyer parts are not interchangeable unless Louet specifically confirms compatibility.
