Louet XL Drum Carder – 30cm, 46 or 72 TPI

The Louet XL Drum Carder is a wonderfully capable workhorse for makers who want to prepare generous, flowing batts. Its broad 30cm working width gives you room to explore colour, texture and fibre blends on a larger scale, while the enclosed gearing keeps the movement smooth and helps prevent wisps of fibre becoming caught in the mechanism.

Choose 46 TPI for coarser wool, fleece preparation and more textured blends, or 72 TPI for finer wool and many everyday spinning fibres. The nickel-plated steel carding wire is set into a cotton and natural-rubber foundation for durability, and the waterproof bonded-birch frame has an easy-care white HPL surface.

Included are the instruction manual, Deb Menz carding booklet, cleaning brush, doffer pin and table clamps, so you can begin preparing fibre straight away.

The 72 TPI version is KP0104 and the 46 TPI version is KP0115. This XL carder is wider than Louet’s Junior and Standard carders, so please choose the cloth density that best suits the fibres you intend to prepare.
