Ashford Double-Drive Spinning Wheel Whorls

These genuine Ashford double-drive whorls let you tune the wheel for the yarn in your hands—choosing the standard option for an easy, versatile range or the high-speed option when fine yarns need more twist without frantic treadling.

On compatible models, the high-speed whorl offers ratios up to approximately 18:1 on the Traveller, 22:1 on the Traditional, 24:1 on the Elizabeth 2 and 28:1 on the Elizabeth 30 (the Elizabeth 30’s highest ratio is used in single-drive mode).

Compatibility: these are for compatible Ashford double-drive systems; they are not Scotch-tension/single-drive whorls. Wheel generation, flyer and drive system all matter, so please ask me to check if you are unsure.
