Ashford Flick Carder – 72 Point

The Ashford Flick Carder is a wonderfully simple little tool for opening fleece lock by lock. Hold the tip, flick through the fibres and watch a compact, slightly tangled staple loosen into an airy fan, ready for smooth spinning with the character of the fleece still beautifully intact.

I particularly like a flick carder when I want to work thoughtfully with a special fleece rather than blending everything together. It is also useful for teasing open ends, removing small pieces of debris and cleaning fibres from carding cloth.
