Ashford Sampleit Loom Reeds

Fancy weaving with some different thickness? You need a new reed for your loom!

Available in 2.5dpi, 5dpi, 7.5dpi, 10dpi, 12.5dpi or 15dpi. The lower the DPI, the chunkier you can weave.

The 2.5dpi is for really super-chunky and art yarns, and is great for handspun and lots of texture. The 5dpi is also great for general handspun and is my usual go-to reed.

For fine weaving, choose a 10, 12.5 or 15dpi reed.

These are replacement and additional reeds for the Ashford SampleIt Loom. Choose the same width as your loom, then select the DPI to suit your yarn.

The 10-inch (25cm) SampleIt uses its dedicated 25cm reed. The 16-inch (40cm) SampleIt uses Ashford’s standard 40cm reed, which also fits the same-width Rigid Heddle and Knitter’s Looms.

Choosing your reed

• 2.5dpi: super-chunky and art yarns
• 5dpi: chunky yarns and general handspun
• 7.5dpi: a versatile medium reed
• 10, 12.5 or 15dpi: progressively finer yarns and weaving
