A lovely fine 100% cotton on a generous 400g cone, with around 3,600 metres to play with. This is a particularly useful yarn for colourwork: the fine 2-ply structure makes it brilliant for Fair Isle and jacquard, and it is especially well suited to standard-gauge machine knitting.
It is a soft matt cotton rather than a shiny mercerised yarn, so the finished fabric has a beautiful natural handle. Cotton has very little elasticity, and in plain single-bed knitting a folded cotton like this can sometimes show a little spirality. Where the design allows, a double-bed or ribber fabric is a really useful option.
