DesignaKnit 9 Machine Knitting Software
DesignaKnit 9 for machine knitting brings garment shaping, stitch design and row-by-row knitting guidance into one very capable Windows program.
I have worked with DesignaKnit for many years and love the way it connects the creative and technical sides of machine knitting. You can begin with a familiar garment shape, adjust it to your measurements and tension, design or import a stitch pattern, position the pattern on the garment and then follow the whole piece through Interactive Knitting.
Both Machine Standard and Machine Pro include:
- Standard Garment Styling for adaptable garment shapes and sizes
- Stitch Designer for colourwork, texture, lace and pattern repeats
- Interactive Knitting with row, shaping and colour-change guidance
- Graphics Studio for turning artwork and images into stitch patterns
- printouts for punch cards, mylar sheets, KnitLeader/KnitRadar and colour changes
- support for optional cable links to compatible knitting machines
Machine Standard is the practical choice if you are happy working from the supplied garment styles and want strong stitch-design and Interactive Knitting tools.
Machine Pro adds Original Pattern Drafting, giving you the freedom to draw, trace and reshape garment pieces from scratch. This is the version I would choose for genuinely original silhouettes, unusual construction or professional pattern development.
Please note: DesignaKnit 9 is Windows software and does not run natively on macOS. Connection hardware is not included. For a Silver Reed SK840, you will also need a SilverLink 5 and the machine’s curl cord.
Delivery: the software is supplied as a web download, with licence keys allowing it to run on two computers. I’ll keep you updated while your licence is processed and make sure you receive the details you need to get started.
