These beautifully balanced Louet hand carders are light in the hands and thoughtfully shaped for comfortable, controlled carding. The curved backs and rounded ergonomic handles make it easier to settle into a steady rhythm as you open, blend and prepare fibre.

Made from strong, lightweight European basswood, each pair has durable carding cloth with galvanised steel wire set into a rubber foundation. Choose the tooth density to suit the fibres you love working with:

46 TPI – for coarser wool and robust fibres
72 TPI – a versatile choice for most standard wool fibres
110 TPI – for fine wool, angora, cotton, silk and other delicate fibres

Carding area: 19 × 10cm
Supplied: as a pair

Please choose carefully for your fibre: a finer cloth is not automatically better for every fleece, and coarse fibre can be difficult to work on very fine carding cloth.
