Silver Reed SilverLink 5 Interface for DesignaKnit and SK840

The SilverLink 5 is the clever little box that lets a Silver Reed electronic knitting machine talk to DesignaKnit on your Windows computer. For the current Silver Reed range, it is the essential link for unlocking the electronic patterning capabilities of the SK840.

I have worked with DesignaKnit for many years, and this is the part that turns all that designing on screen into something you can actually knit. Patterns are transferred automatically when you begin Interactive Knitting, while DesignaKnit can guide you through the rows, shaping and colour changes as you work.

Why it is useful:

• connects your electronic Silver Reed or compatible Knitmaster machine to a Windows PC
• works with DesignaKnit for electronic pattern selection and Interactive Knitting
• gives live stitch and row feedback while you knit
• holds the downloaded pattern in its own memory, even when the unit is switched off
• supports standard pattern knitting and compatible electronic lace or intarsia carriages

Compatibility: ideal for the Silver Reed SK840 and also compatible with legacy Silver Reed SK830, SK860 and SK890 electronic machines, plus Knitmaster 550, 560 and 580 models. It is designed for Windows computers.

Included: SilverLink 5 interface unit, power supply and mains lead, USB cable and instructions.
