Silver Reed SRP60N 4.5mm Standard Gauge Ribber

The Silver Reed SRP60N is the 4.5 mm standard-gauge ribbing attachment for the Silver Reed SK280 and SK840 knitting machines. Add it to your main needle bed and you can knit proper rib structures with a clean cast-on edge, rather than having to hand-finish every welt.

It is one of the most useful upgrades if you want your machine knitting to move beyond single-bed stocking stitch. The second bed opens up 1x1, 2x1, 2x2, 3x3 and other rib arrangements, and gives you much more scope for double-bed texture and structure.

Compatible machines

• Silver Reed SK280 standard-gauge punch card machine
• Silver Reed SK840 standard-gauge electronic machine

Both are 4.5 mm standard-gauge machines, so the same SRP60N ribber can be used whether you prefer punch-card patterning or electronic patterning.

Why add a ribber?

If you make garments, a ribber is one of those accessories that very quickly earns its space. It lets you build knitted ribs directly on the machine for cuffs, hems, waistbands and neck finishes, while also opening the door to a wider range of double-bed fabrics.
